Many bought wooden rings with their names carved. Dr. Valentine bought a pewter sun for sixteen dollars in trendy Tlaquepaque. He found the same artesanía in Tlapalpa for half that price later. Tlaquepaque is part of Guadalajara. It is basically a tourist area. More fun is Tonalá on Thursday and Sunday, a fabulous market worthy of one or more visits.
