Friday & Saturday, May 25-26 in Guanajuato
After a five hour ride on a University of Guadalajara bus, we arrived in Guanajuato, a colonial mining town that produced enought gold and silver (along with Zacatecas and Potosí, Bolivia) to keep Spain running for centuries. Narrow streets require us to walk to the Hostería del Fraile, next to the restaurante El Retiro where we ate our evening meal. A Friday afternoon thunderstorm prevented us from finishing out city tour. We went to the mines on Saturday. More later (or earlier).
